Qualification - Saturday July 28 2007 - Mantorp Park

The night to Saturday was plagued with rain. It did stop and the track crew got the surface dry in short time, another rain shower came as the TMFC class was moving up to the staging lanes. Go back to the pits and wait while the rain was passing by and the track crew worked to keep it dry once again.

Kjell and the other TMFC drivers finally got on the track again and Kjell had a better run just lifting once to correct the car, posting a 6.073 @ 379.44 km/h, advancing to position 6.

Pritona Racing got visitors of dignity on Saturday, Leif and Johnny Helander came to check the race action, Johnny couldn't keep his hands of the car for that long. More rain delayed qualifications even more it's getting late in the evening, but the racing will keep on to 10 pm, with some night racing.

When it was time to move out for the final qualification run an oil leak was spotted under the engine, it wasn't a quick fix since it was the leaking from the rear main bearing seal. Some rapid activity came on to get it fixed in time to make the run, but in a while the decision was to stay in the pits and change the whole engine. A brand new BAE stage VI was fitted during the evening.

Kjell did keep his number 6 qualification position, since none of the slower cars made it past his 6.073 posted earlier.

Two cars going fast was Ulf Leanders and Leif Andreasson's they ran the fastest side by side run for the TMFC class in Europe with 5.711 and 5.738 putting keeping them in number 1 and 2 position.
