Race car - Wheels

The wheels in front are 23 x 4.5" Good Year tires on Centerline 15 x 3,5" rims, enough tire to steer the car and not taking that much power to turn with its low roll resistance. At the rear there are 34.5 x 17" Hoosier tires inflated to 4.5 - 6.5 PSI 0.3 - 0.45 bar to give a maximum area of contact. They are fitted on 16 x 16" Centerline rims.

Disc brakes on all four wheels are used to get the car halted. Steel rotors front and rear with aluminium alloy calipers. To take the high top speed of 400 km/h down quickly, two brake "parachutes" are being used. They generate up to 5 G in negative acceleration. Once the speed is down to about 200 km/h, where the disc brakes on the wheels are used to finaly stop the car.
